How to cook your turkey to perfection

When it is cooked right then turkey is a joy to eat and makes a great meal, but if you cook it wrong then it becomes a real pain to try and eat all that dry and tasteless meat. The best way to cook your turkey to make sure it is going to be juicy is to fry it, the oven just dries it out, but a fryer will make the skin go all crispy and keep the rest of the meat moist as the juices stay inside.

When it comes to frying your turkey then most people like to use a propane one, probably because it is a bit faster and seems cooler to have it out in the yard cooking while you are out there, but I am always worried about starting a fire with them, or knocking it over. If you use a Masterbuilt electric turkey fryer instead then it will be up on the side with a cover on it so you don’t need to worry as much about it being knocked over (unless you have a dog who jumps up on the counter) and it has a thermostat on it to regulate the temperature for you, so you can just sit back and relax.

The cooking time for frying is about 4 minutes per pound of turkey once it has come back up to temperature, and you can adjust that based on how crispy you like it, just make sure you use a meat thermometer to check it is properly done before serving. Make up some gravy and serve it with all the trimmings that make it your own special meal, and then your family can enjoy the result of all your hard work.
